Haixia Liu

Under the background of the new curriculum, the focus of teaching has changed from enriching students’ knowledge
reserves to cultivating students’ good moral quality and values, and promoting the improvement of students’ ideological and
political level. Ideology and politics is an important condition of socialist modernization and a key factor for the healthy growth of
students. Therefore, in college English teaching, ideological and political teaching should be strictly combined with the ideological
and political background content of the course, and combined with daily English teaching, focusing on cultivating students’
good learning habits, correct moral concepts and comprehensive qualities, so as to promote the comprehensive improvement of
college students’ ideological and political level. Based on this, this paper puts forward the requirements and specific strategies of
infiltrating ideological and political teaching in college English class, in order to improve the teaching efficiency of college English
class and improve the English ability and ideological and political level of college students.
