On the Present Situation of College English Teaching and the Significance of Adopting Modular Teaching

In recent years, China’s economy has been rapid development, colleges and universities of English education, but also
more attention. To improve the ability of college students to use English is the fundamental goal of college English teaching, so as
to ensure students’ English level in the future work, work can meet the requirements, better work. Therefore, the university stage
is the university, the student studies English the key time. The reform of English teaching in colleges and universities in our country has been carried out in various forms and degrees, taking students as the starting point, and changing the traditional English
teaching mode and idea from imparting knowledge to guiding students to autonomous learning. As far as the actual development
is concerned, it is very important to adopt modular teaching method in college English teaching.Modular teaching is based on the
overall view of the system, and we should pay special attention to the organic connection among the factors in the modules, arrange
and arrange modular teaching reasonably, which will help college students to use English skillfully, it is important to enhance basic
language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.
