Modification in LiFePO4 electrode material for lithium-ion battery

Despite the excellent stability of LiFePO4, shortcomings such as poor conductivity and low energy density reduced its comprehensive properties and application range. In this article, I summarized three main practical methods so far. It will briefly introduce the fundamental property of LiFePO4, carbon coating, and nanocrystallization, and then describe doping in detail. Comparing the best dopants from research pieces, we can see that the capacity and conductivity will first increase and then decrease, and the proper ions may lie in lanthanide.
