Call for Papers for the Special Issue: Trust-Based Routing in Mobile and Delay Tolerant Network (DTNs)


The Introduction of the Special Issue

Many emerging network applications exhibit intermittent connectivity, changes in topology with no guarantee that a fully connected path between source and destination exists at any time. This resulted in rendering the traditional routing protocols inadequate to deliver messages between hosts. Since the connectivity between the source and the destination in most mobile and DTNs network is not guarantee, the security requirements through authentication and reliable routing system will be challenging to establish. This has opened new challenges for routing in mobile and DTNs. While research into routing in Mobile networks and DTNs is not new, there is a need for more work in the security of mobile and DTNs routing. Subsequently, the trust-based routing scheme - each node having required routing information of its encountered nodes can be a promising solution. The trust-based routing scheme enables each node to dynamically evaluate its contacts for optimal routing decisions and security considerations.

· Security and Performance of the trust-based system

· Models of mobility and traffic for evaluating trust-based routing algorithms

· Emergent behavior in mobile and delay-tolerant networks

· Survey on trust, mobile networks, and DTNs

All papers should be submitted via the Journal of Networking and Telecommunications  submission system:

Submitted articles should not be published or under review elsewhere. All submissions will be subject to the journal’s standard peer review process. Criteria for acceptance include originality, contribution, scientific merit and relevance to the field of interest of the Special Issue.
