The Introduction of the Special Issue

This issue covers the new challenges that management practice faces currently and has to cope with in the future. Sustainable development is a wide-encompassing area ranging from long-term survival of the existing business, its evolution through change as well as a keen consideration for sustainability like green issues likely to impact business. Management evolves in an environment characterized by productivity, innovation and profit while sustainable development is incipiently felt but not duly considered. Taking in view of changes in mindset adopted by governments all over the world, it is expected that management gets involved in sustainable development issues.  This call for papers wants to see how researchers purport interesting and insightful ideas on this challenging issue and how they are contributing to finding appropriate alternatives for management to carve its way within sustainable development. This special series is innovative in the sense that it delves into this critical issue with views coming from various stakeholders with varied viewpoints on the central theme.

 

The Research Scope of the Special Issue

·To ensure appropriate management approaches to maintenance and promotion of sustainable development.

·To develop managerial concepts and ideas around sustainability.

·To consider the influence of green management philosophies in sustainable development.

·To analyse new leadership perspectives regarding sustainable development.

·To find out a multidisciplinary approach to sustainable development through the integration of various managerial disciplines within this concept.

Submitted articles should not be published or under review elsewhere. All submissions will be subject to the journal’s standard peer review process. Criteria for acceptance include originality, contribution, scientific merit and relevance to the field of interest of the Special Issue.

As you may be aware, sustainable development is a wide-encompassing area ranging from long-term survival of the existing business, its evolution through change as well as considering sustainability focusing on green issues, ecology and the natural environment impacting business. This special edition is inviting papers that contribute interesting and insightful ideas on this challenging issue and how today’s managers and business stakeholders are contributing to finding appropriate alternatives for management to carve its way within sustainable development. This special series is pioneering in the sense that it researches ideas, views and incisive thoughts from various stakeholders with varied viewpoints on the central theme. We are welcoming papers from the following areas namely: management approach to sustainable development, organization development and sustainability, leadership, green issues including a multidisciplinary approach to management thinking in sustainable development.
